Trying to figure out a solution for client who needs to sell gift certificates and then allow customers to redeem the gift certificate for a class registration. Is anyone doing this with a workaround they could share. Thank you

Hi there,
Currently, Event Espresso does not have gift certificate functionality but depending on exactly what you need one way you could do this is by using Promotion codes with 100% discount.
The promotions add-on doesn’t store the ‘used’ value of a promotion code, meaning if you wanted to use a gift certificate of $100 and someone registered onto a $30 ticket it simply classes that promotion as used and doesn’t save the $70 difference for later.
So if you provide a gift of a ‘class registration’, meaning they can use the whole of gift certificate as a registration, the promotions system may work for you but if not, you’ll need custom development to create something else (note it will likely require significant development if you are looking to ‘store’ the values used/remaining on certificates).
