Hi,

I’m trying to figure out if EE4 can accomplish the following:
– One Event, spanning multiple weeks (CAMP)
– Each day has a daily capacity of 30 participants
– User can buy tickets for single days or for entire weeks at a time
– User selects which date-times to use those tickets, based on real-time availability

I have set this up on the Test Drive site, but cannot figure out how to accomplish the last step. Please see: http://demoee.org/blog/events/spring-camp/

Can EE4 do this or do I need to look at EE3 and the Multiple Event Add-on?

Thanks!

Hi, this sounds slightly similar to an access pass where you make one purchase and then that grants you access to various sessions. In this case, it would be camp classes.

Approximately how many different classes (sessions) would be offered in a single day?

Hi Lorenzo,

There would just be one Camp session per day. Does EE have a built in “access pass” option, and would it allow the customer to select a combination of sessions (only from sessions with availability) before purchasing the tickets/pass?

Thanks,
Alyssa

Hi Alyssa,

Event Espresso does not have an access pass feature. The idea that I had was to create a required pricing option and then free pricing options for the daily sessions. It would look something like this:

Camp Registration – Price here
Camp Session – Arts & Crafts
Camp Session – Wellness
Camp Session – Music

Got it, Lorenzo. Sorry for the confusion.

That wouldn’t work for this situation. So, I’m not missing something in EE4, this just isn’t built in functionality, correct?

What about EE3? With the Multiple Event Add-On, is there a way to provide a discount if registering for multiple events?

Thanks,
Alyssa

Hi, Event Espresso 3 does not have an access pass / credits system feature either.

However, you could apply a percentage based discount or a flat discount by using Event Espresso 3 + Multiple Event Registration add-on + Volume Discounts add-on.

The Volume Discounts add-on works by checking for a threshold before applying a discount. Here are some examples:

Apply a 15% discount when at least 3 registrations occur

Apply a $25 discount when the subtotal is at least $100

Thank you, Lorenzo, that sounds like it will work for us!

Best,
Alyssa
