Our site is integrated with Worldpay and we need a method to add a surcharge to a ticket price when a credit card is selected. This must happen before the user is directed to Worldpay to make payment.
The ideal is to present a list of card types (credit cards and debit cards) at the event registration for the use to select from, if a credit card is selected then the surcharge is displayed and added onto the total ticket price.
Do you know of anything similar to this and if it is possible with or without customisation?
We have a work around for the moment by adding an additional event price but this is not ideal.
You’ll find that the price modifier add-on (available to download from your account page if you opt-in to the pre-release channel) will do just what you need in that it will let you modify the price based on the answer to a question. (eg: question Card Type? Credit|Surcharge amount).
Thanks i did see the price modifier but it’s not quite what we’re looking for and in this instance it doesn’t do much more than we could achieve with the additional event price.
The main issue is we need a full-proof method that will prevent a user from selecting debit card payment in EE then paying by credit card in worldpay.
Credit cards have a 3% surcharge, debit cards are normal price.
So we are trying to find a method to present the payment card types in EE so if a user selects a credit card in EE, they can see the additional surcharge on their order total, then when they click through to worldpay the credit card is already pre-selected.
Since you need a full-proof method it will require some custom development. The Event Espresso Worldpay gateway doesn’t have this feature.
