Hi – I’ve received this error on my site a few times recently:

An error has occurred:
We’re sorry but your request failed to pass a security check.
Please click the back button on your browser and try again.

I understand it’s a caching issue from what the forum says, but is there a place I can edit this error message to have users contact me directly so I can respond to them if they have this issue?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

You should never see that message unless there’s a problem with the website that needs to be fixed. Can you post a link to the event page so we can investigate further?

Here is the link. It’s happened twice in the last 30 days. After I clear the cache (or the user clears their cache), they are able to register without error.

That said, I have no way to know if this error occurs unless a user emails me. That’s why I would like to edit that message to include my email for contact. Additionally, I do not see any errors in the error log either.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

You can get your site updated to the current version of Event Espresso 4 (current 4.9.50.p) and you’ll avoid that error. Your site has an older version that included a “process_ticket_selections_nonce” check, which would trigger the error if the nonce was stale. The check has since been removed from Event Espresso 4.
