After installing and activating R&P Pro, I am unable to assign regional manager role to a user simply because this role doesn’t exist, the addon did not create the user role “Regional Manager” nor did it creat “Event Manager”.. Yet I still have the role “Espresso Master Admin” which was created by the basic plugin.. I need to allow a user to edit event created by me (admin), and create new ones, how can I do that?? |

Hi, What version of EE, R&P Basic and R&P Pro are you using please? I assume RP Basic was active when you activated RP Pro? |
|
Hi Dean, yes it was.. EE Version 3.1.36.6.P Thank you |
Hi, To use R&P Pro, you also need R&P basic installed and activated. R&P basic provides the base functionality, R&P Pro modifies and extends this functionality. Download, install and activate Roles & Permissions Basic which will create the espresso roles for you to use. Then R&P Pro can extend the functionality for the more advanced features. |

Hi Tony SHould I remove EE Permissions Version 1.5.5.p?? |
|
This is what I got when I tried installing R&P Basic Unpacking the package… Installing the plugin… Destination folder already exists. /home/radeinc1/public_html/nomadarabia/wp-content/plugins/espresso-permissions-basic/ Plugin install failed. |
I do apologise, for some reason when I read: EE Permissions Version 1.5.5.p Within your previous post it didn’t register as R&P Basic, you already have it installed, so no you do not need to remove it. So you currently have both of these active? EE Permissions Version 1.5.5.p Can you de-activate R&P Pro, and re-activate, then check if the roles have been created? |

No problem I tried deactivating and reactivating, it still didn’t solve it, roles are still not created.. |
Hi, Do you have any other plugins that have the ability to create or edit roles? If so, you might try deactivating all plugins, then reactivating Event Espresso and its add-ons. Then restore your remaining plugins. — |
|
I believe I have found the cause of this and have sent an updated version of R&P Pro to the email address linked to your account. If you can de-activate and delete the current version of R&P Pro, then install the version from the email and activate. Are the roles then correctly created? |

I’m sorry Tony no..it didn’t work.. |

Dear Lorenzo This turning off all plugins has really harmed my business lately…my website views has plummeted drastically, and every time I did it, it wasn’t the case, so I did it for nothing really…Plus last time I tried to Deactivate ALL plugins at once, the website crashed and I had to restore the server.. |
Hi Bander, You can avoid the issues around troubleshooting a live site by cloning the live site onto a development sever. Then you have a place to do your troubleshooting that will not affect the live site. Then, you can try manually creating the users by temporarily adding the following line of code to your theme’s functions.php file, saving, refreshing a page in the admin, then remove the code and save. This is done while both of the R&P plugins are active:
Please test this on your dev server first. |

Thank you Josh |
Hi Bander, There are free and very cheap host options out there that can be used for a staging server. The $70 priority support token buys up to 30 minutes of priority support. |
