Do you have any documentation on how to setup and configure the Roles and Permissions addon?
I purchased both basic and pro and I cant figure out how the different roles work.
Basically, I want my employees to only have access to go in and export the list of attendees and to check attendees in for events. Is there a way to do this?
It would be good to make it so “roles and permissions” would add a drop down to an event where you could select an event manager from the users you have created
It seems as though in the ‘basic’ version you can assign one person to manage and view the events. which is kind of useless since they can view all the events and the main admin person no longer has access to the events.
@Terry, We are working on updating the documentation. The set up process is much simpler with the new R & P add-on as it no longer requires installing and configuring a 3rd part plugin. It does not have the capability to restrict specific Event Espresso functions, rather the permissions are based on the different areas of the admin and capabilities . So for your use-case, I’d recommend setting the event admin to have the permissions to access only the event/attendee listings page:
Then adjust the capabilities by selecting the Espresso Master Admin role and checking off the boxes under User Roles:
The main admin person should still have access to the events. Check the capabilities of the admin and make sure these have not been checked off. That’s not a bad idea to have some sort of dropdown in the event editor to assign specific users to specific events. The R&P pro add-on that is still under development has a similar feature that lets you assign specific venues to venue managers, which the venues can then be selected through the event editor for assigning these to specific event managers.
