Using EE 3.1.37.4P with the Espresso Roles and Permissions Basic add-on.
The issue is:
“Event Overview – Sorry, you do not have permission to edit this event”
shows up when an editor tries to edit an event which they have created themselves.
Administrator level has no issue editing any and all events.
Settings for the editor include “espresso_event_admin”, “espresso_event_manager” and “espresso_group_admin”.
I *am* using a third-party plugin to add role capabilities (User Role Editor), but I set the role for editor in the Event Espresso User Roles area.
Having read previous forum threads, and trying all the other options, I am not finding a viable solution.
I’m afraid an Editor user role is not going to be able to access events, even with the Roles and Permissions add-on. It was not designed to do that.
What it does do is it adds an “Espresso Master Admin” role that can be assigned to a user account. When a user account has the “Espresso Master Admin” role, then they can edit events.
OK – got it working as it should, but it was not uber-intuitive. I had to change all my editors (and there are several) to become espresso master admins. The way this role is set up, an editor cannot be an espresso master admin (a normal editor with all the power of an espresso master admin), but an espresso master admin can be an editor (an espresso master admin with all the power of of an editor such as writing, publishing, etc. on regular posts).
Whatever – it is working now.
Thank you!
