We have set up our website using Capability Manager to define users roles etc. I’ve just tried restricting roles with espresso and it doens’t work. I notice this is a paid for add-on. Does your add-on work with capability Manager? It seems a bit odd not to allow us to restrict use to our own users. Its unlikely anyone would want event organisers to have admin just to add an event.
In EE3 you can use the Roles & Permissions Basic add on to give a user the Event Admin role, that basically mirrors an admin role but allows you to select what part of Event Espresso they can access.
The Roles and Permissions Pro plugin (which requires R&P Basic) allows you to give users an Event Manager or Regional Manager role. These are slightly different, but they both only have access to Event Espresso (nothing else) and they can also be limited in what they see within the plugin.
“Does your add-on work with capability Manager?”
We haven’t tested it, but the plugins merely add new capabilities and roles so I cannot see why it wouldn’t work.
