So I noticed when testing that I closed out of my browser only added to my cart but never paid or registered for any classes, I went back in and it said there was classes reserved (for the classes I selected when testing). I researched in your support tickets and it said go to Maintenance/Reset/Delete Data and then select Reset Ticket and Datetime Reserved Counts. I did that and the reserved spaces are still there. I also Flushed our Cache and still reserved spaces showing. Does this function not work? I also read that if that is not completed the system should remove them after 1 hour, but then is some tickets this wasn’t working either? We have a set limit on the amount of tickets that can be purchased per class for example Childbirth 2 spots per class, and need the spaces available and not reserved if someone does not complete their registration. |

Also noticed the following. I have 2 classes available for breast feeding, 1 was in reserved (I tried the maintenance functionality and the 1 reserved was still there). I added another breast feeding class, did not complete the transaction, went into the system said 2 reserved, I completed the maintenance function again and it removed the last class under reserved, but still has the 1 class under reserved? So it removed the last class in reserved but the first one is still appearing? |
Hi, It sounds like your web server doesn’t allow for scheduled tasks (also known as wp-cron). If you go to Tools > Site Health, then look under “Recommended improvements” does it say “A scheduled event has failed”? If so, you could contact your web host and ask them if there’s anything that can be done to restore scheduled tasks for WordPress. |
Thanks that is exactly what it says. Should I wait another hour to see if it clears? Or do you suggest contacting them based on what the “A scheduled event has failed” message? |
also here is the message: The scheduled event, AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__generation, failed to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended. |
Hi, That particular task is scheduled for every 5 minutes so it’s usually the first one to show up as the failed task. Other scheduled events are likely failing too, so it’s advised to contact the web host and ask them about allowing wp_cron or an alternative task scheduler. |

Hi Josh I spoke with our hosting provider GoDaddy and they verified on their server end that wp_cron is active, but because we are on a managed word press environment it is interferring and we would need to add scripts to cpanel migrate ect – sounded all very complicated. We need this to be resolved or we cannot use the EventEspresso Plugin 🙁 Do you have any other options? I researched some tickets and seen maybe a plugin to mage the cron job might work? |
Its also very odd I just checked back the event ticket that was stuck in reserved is now released? Maybe it takes 2-4 hours to release after going to go daddy scheduler? – no idea! |
It could be that it takes longer and doesn’t always work because of the interference. The recommended way forward would be to move the hosting to one of the recommended hosts. I’m afraid GoDaddy’s managed hosting is not an ideal hosting environment because, as they say, it interferes with scheduled tasks. Another option would be to contact GoDaddy support and ask them to escalate the ticket to a support engineer that’s familiar with making sure scheduled tasks run as expected without interference. |
