In the past, registrants have been able to go through the registration process, get to the payment page, and leave and it would save their registration as pending and keep it as a reserved spot for the event. This past weekend we opened a new event and the limit was 12 tickets, a number of people reserved a spot, but the event sold all 12 spots without keeping the 5 reserved.
We would like the events to hold the reserved pending payment spots and still send the email to those registrants that provides them the link to proceed with payment. This is the first event it has not done this for.
The reserved tickets feature will only keep the tickets reserved for the duration of the user session (which by default is one hour) and then the next time the cron job fires to clear ‘expired’ reserved tickets they will go back on sale.
You mentioned 5 people reserved tickets, may I ask how long those tickets were expected to be reserved?
Yes, but also note that anyone that does not pay for the event will also be Approved with this set up, but that’s the only way to ‘reserve’ a ticket without paying which is what you are requesting.
And do I do that individually in each event or can I change that default setting for all the events?
There’s a setting for setting the Default Registration Status (DRS for short) used on new events you create within Event Espresso -> Events -> Default Settings -> Default Registration Status
However, any events already created will need the DRS setting on each of those, the default setting only applies to new events, it uses that setting when creating the event, after that it uses the event’s individual setting.
