I have EE 4.4.1 I need to reschedule (move to a different date) an event for which there are already registrations. How to I reschedule the entire event rather than just move the attendees or is this procedure the only on https://eventespresso.com/topic/reschedule-move-attendee-date/, and notify the attendees? Also registrants may not want or be able to attend the new date. Is there a simple or BEST PRACTICES way of issuing refunds? |

Hi Omar, The topic you linked to is slightly different than your issue. If you would like to change an events date, then simply edit the event and amend the dates accordingly. Existing registrations will be updated, however you will need to let them know about it as the system will not send out a notification of the date change. Regarding refunds, those are not handled by Event Espresso but need to be handled via the payment processor. Once a refund is confirmed, you can then edit the transaction in EE and the registration will be (by default) cancelled. |
Thanks Dean! 3 follow up questions: 1) I cannot, for all i’m worth, figure out how to message all registrants other than CSV Export (a thorough users manual anywhere?) Is there another way? 2) You mentioned
Is it possible to change the default actions without coding? 3) I still like the idea of reassigning attendees, but I cannot find that plug-in. Is that functionality now built-in? |

Hi Omar, First, please backup your site an update to the current version of Event Espresso 4.4.4. Next, the newsletter feature (batch email) can be activated by going to WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Events. Then hover over the name of your event and click on Registrations. This will take you to the registrations screen for this specific event. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you’ll see the send batch message button. Select the registrants/attendees that you would like to contact by placing a checkmark next to each of them and then click send batch message button. The link that you shared references Event Espresso 3 so it would not apply here. If you would like to move a registrant, then you can cancel the existing registration and manually add them like so: WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Events. Then hover over the name of your event and click on Registrations. This will take you to the registrations screen for this specific event. Then click on the Add New Registration button and complete the registration. — |

Hey Lorenzo, Thanks but there is no batch message button. |
|
Hi Omar, Are you on the latest software at 4.4.4? — |
|
yes, Lorenzo. The 4.4.1 above was in error. I am on 4.4.4 |
|
I now urgently need to contact participants and I have discovered that I cannot export CSV either |

Hi, To clarify, go to the Events menu, hover over an event and click registrations. Then you will see a list of registrations just for that event. The screen will look like this in 4.4.4 http://take.ms/2fWVn Note that you need to select attendees to batch message them. When you say you cannot export to CSV, what is the issue? No button? Failed download? Error message? |
Hey Dean, Thanks. The issue with CSV is that I click download and nothing happens. No error, no download, no completion. Zip, Zero, Nada. Regarding the button, no such button exists for me. see the attached file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mr2mguzj3ftgn3d/Screen%20Shot%202014-11-05%20at%2015.02.10.png?dl=0 |

I have now deleted and reinstalled 3 times. First with the initial download from your site. Subsequently with 2 new downloads from my accounts page. |

I see. OK, the batch messages are based on the Newsletter message type so please go to Messages > Settings Tab > and drag the Newsletter from the Inactive Message types box on the right over to the Email Settings box on the left. The batch message option should then appear. In regards to the CSV file, can you go to the Events page in the admin and click the export link on any event. This is just to see if the CSV file is working there or not. If it is not then it might well be a server related issue. In which case the first thing to do is to turn on WP_DEBUG, so that we can see any hidden errors – http://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG |
Hey Dean, Thanks but something is definitely wrong. I can see the list of inactive types however it appears as plain text, meaning nothing is selectable, let alone drag and drop. |

Hi, Are you manually uploading Event Espresso 4 using SFTP or FTP? Various elements are missing in the screenshots that you shared. — |
|
yes Lorenzo, I figured out the problem. When the files were being reinstalled they were installing to the wrong location using the plugins directory as the base directory. I deleted all the files and reinstalled. The newsletter part seems to be working properly now. I haven’t yet tested the CSV export |

Thanks for confirming. You should be able to perform one-click updates in the future. If this is a staging or develop site, then deactivate and remove through WP Plugins. Then add the updated .zip through WP Plugins. — |
