Hello, We have a client whose project has a few requirements that we’d like to see if Event Espresso can fulfill. Here’s what we’ve got:
Thanks in advance for letting us know if Event Espresso can meet these requirements. If specific add-ons were needed to extend Event Espresso to meet these requirements, knowing what they were would be great too! |

Hi there, Some of your requirements would be better matched with a Membership plugin but I’ll try an break each section down:
Event Espresso does not manage users, there is an option to automatically create a user account based on the information they have provided within the registration form, however no password can be passed through here, it will be automatically generated and the user needs to ‘reset’ it to their own (an email will be send that they can use to do this) You may prefer to use a membership plugin for this and have the user register onto the event before they can register onto events, this leads onto….
This not something Event Espresso would handle, you would use some form of membership plugin to create a front end login, or theme the wp login and redirect from there.
With the WP User Integration Add-on you can use the [ESPRESSO_MY_EVENTS] shortcode within a page that can then display the users registrations, this would look similar to the example here: https://eventespresso.com/product/eea-wp-user-integration/#espresso-my-events-shortcode Using a membership plugin such as Members allows you to set the page to only be visible to logged in users.
Event Espresso itself does provide a section for downloads only available if you have registered (and paid) onto the event, however you LearnDash have an integration with EE4 that allows you to automatically set users up on a ‘course’ within LearnDash once they have paid for the event which may work, you can find details of their integration here: http://www.learndash.com/work/event-espresso/ So based on the list of requirements you posted above Event Espresso handles your registrations, a membership plugin would handle your memebers and LearnDash could handle your course materials (although you can also do this using just the membership plugin with custom development). If you have further questions please let me know 🙂 |

Tony, thanks so much for the detailed breakdown and the guidance in terms of the complementary plugins that we need to pull this off. I believe you’ve got a new customer. Thanks again for taking the time to spell it out. |
