Require Payment before Confirmation Number given

I’m running into duplicate registrations being created when they submit before paying or when a payment is declined and they go back and try again. Is there a way to only allow registration submission once a payment method has been chosen/approved?

Hi Samuel,

Event Espresso currently needs to create a registration before a payment can be associated.

With that mentioned, by default, these incomplete registrations do not affect the attendee limit.

For example, lets say you have an event with an attendee limit of 10.

Then 8 people registered and paid. That would leave 2 spots open.

If two attendees/registrants started registration but did not pay, then there would still be 2 spots remaining.

What version of Event Espresso are you currently using?

We are using EE3 (3.1.36.6.P)

When we setup the registration site we wanted to use the ticketing option that wasn’t yet available for EE4. (I see it is now but we can’t make the change until after our event)

Hi,

The attendee limit should still prevent overselling.

Is your question regarding recording registrations or is there overselling occurring?

The first option is handled in the same way for both versions — a record is created and then the payment is associated.
