I was previously using the Calendar addon for EE4 on my site at http://www.jrp-pca.org/calendar. I deleted the Calendar shortcode from the page (Calendar was the title of the page) and I disabled the plugin.

Now, whenever I visit the page, I get an AJAX popup that displays:

“The [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shortcode has not been properly registered or the corresponding addon/module is not active for some reason. Either fix/remove the shortcode from the post, or activate the addon/module the shortcode is associated with.”

I’ve checked the post a number of times and I cannot see anywhere where the shortcode is located on the page or post.

Hi there Richard, I browsed to the link that you provided and did not see the notice so I use the website navigation to browse to several more pages.

This notice may be temporarily “cached” locally in your web browser. Do you see if if you browse to the site using a different web browser?

It occurs in another browser but only occurs when I’m logged in.

Hi, if you are running any caching services on the site such as WP super cache, then you may want to clear the caching on the site.

There is no caching plugin installed.

This is occuring on multiple machines once I log in. Are there any database entries that I can remove that weren’t removed when I uninstalled the Calendar plugin?

Hi Richard,

There is a configuration stored in the options table, but it’s tricky to remove because it’s within a serialized chunk of data.

You’re correct that the notice will only display while logged in as admin, that’s by design.

One thing that may help to update the config is activate the calendar plugin, create a temporary page and set the calendar shortcode on it, then save. Then you can delete it and that should update the config so the original calendar page no longer is set in the config.

Tried your suggested solution but it didn’t solve the problem. I then went into the dB into the wp-options table and the ee-config row.

There I found:

I can see where the config still has the calendar page in the config (post id 116) but I can’t figure out what I can safely delete.

It appears that I need to remove this:
a:7:{s:8:"calendar";a:1:{s:17:"ESPRESSO_CALENDAR";i:116;}s:5:"posts";a:2:{s:47:"ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id="meetings"";s:3:"116";s:17:"ESPRESSO_CALENDAR";i:485;}

Yes?

I figured it out. Problem is gone.
