Hi,
Can you give us a link to the venue page in question? What theme are you using? When I turn off commenting for venues with the 2012 theme (via the venue Discussion settings), things work like a charm.

Hi Garth,
I was looking for a way to do it site wide (we have many managers for many events / venues) so that it just wouldn’t ever show up. The discussion settings for the event do work but it’s another thing to train and notice. Would be nice if there was settings somewhere to turn off commenting site wide for events and / or venues.

Hi,
Try this using your preferred SFTP or FTP client (Cyberduck and Filezilla are free options):
1) Duplicate your page.php file (or equivalent) for the page template
2) Rename to single-espresso_venues.php
3) Open the file for editing. You should see a line of code that is calling the content. Replace it with this:
4) Remove or comment out the line of code for comments and then save changes.
That will permanently remove the comments from your venues page.
