can we remove the address question in ee4 decaf, or at least move it to bottom? an address field doesn’t make any sense without a city or state to go with it. and in general, it seems very strange to force an Address field, especially when we can’t even move it to the bottom. |
Hi Daniel, May I ask why are you using Decaf when you have a support license that allows for using the full version? The full version allows for customizing the registration form. |

Hi Josh~ Tried to reply by email but see now that was noreply… Using EE4 Decaf because I don’t like the look of EE3 checkout – it looks quite dated and Decaf seemed to fit all the needs of this small project. However, this wonky street address field looks rather unprofessional and confusing. Is there a way to hide it please (even by editing the theme code)? Thanks~ |

Also, we only have a Personal lisence on EE3, so I wasnt sure if that works on multiple sites or not. Please confirm. |
Hi Daniel, It seems there’s a little confusion over the different versions of Event Espresso, so lets first clear that up:
EE3 can be considered the ‘legacy’ version of EE, it’s the oldest version but is no longer under development (other than security fixes), it still has use cases in which it’s a better fit than EE4 (for example if recurring events are critical). EE4 is the ‘latest’ version of Event Espresso, its not simply an update to EE3 but a completely new system built based on the feedback from EE3. EE4 Decaf can be considered the ‘free’ version of Event Espresso 4, its basically a stripped down version of EE4 regular. So what Josh is suggesting is not to switch to EE3, but to use the ‘Regular’ full feature version of EE4 rather than Decaf. As you have a support/update license you have access to the full version of EE4 and you can find it under your downloads section on your account page as EE3 license holders have access to EE4 (If you manually install that version you need to de-activate and delete EE4 Decaf first, you will not lose your event/registration data when doing so). OR if you add your license key to the Decaf version in Event Espresso -> General Settings, EE should prompt you to update and if your license key has access to the regular version it will automatically switch you over when you update. — So why are we recommending you switch from Decaf? Because Decaf doesn’t give you the option to edit the registration form, which is what you need to remove the address field. |
