Hi I have got in contact with my hosting provider who looked into the error log and said it was an issue with the Event Espresso plugin. They said to either remove or delete this plugin and re install this. But was worried if I do delete this then reinstall I would lose the events that have already been set up? |

Hi there, Removing Event Espresso from the site does not remove any data from the database which is where all of your event/registration/payment etc data is stored. Did your host provide any more details on why they think this is an issue with Event Espresso? Error 500 is a general error meaning something went wrong with the request, a full error is normally stored within the error log. If you can post that error here we can provide more feedback on what the problem may be. |

Hi Tony 3780 channelevents.co.uk [Tue Jan 02 10:05:38 2018] [error] [client 66.249.64.145:55919] AH01215: #1 /home/sites/channelevents.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/libraries/plugin_api/EE_Regi ster_Addon.lib.php(270): EE_Ticketing->after_registration(): /home/sites/channelevents.co.uk/public_html/index.php This is an issue with your plugins eea-ticketing.” |

Hmm, ok. I don’t think a re-install will fix this unless you are using an older version? Which version number of Event Espresso core are you running and which version number of the ticket add-on is currently on the site? |
Hi I have just gone in to the plugin files and from what I can see it is running: Event Espresso – Ticketing (EE 4+) Version: 1.0.6.p Event Espresso Version: 4.9.39.p It looks like the client I did the website for has maybe updated the ticketing plugin yesterday but haven’t been able to get hold of them so am not sure |
That’s probably what happened, and I’m afraid the current version of the ticketing add-on is not compatible with Event Espresso 4.9.39.p. Can you deactivate the ticketing add-on, then run the update for Event Espresso 4 core so it’s on the current version? |
Hi I will try… I currently can not get in to the back end of the website at all so can’t get into the admin panel to deactivate… Shall I just delete the ticketing add on plugin from the plugin folder then reinstall it not sure if i will lose any data from the plugin doing it that way… |
You will not lose any data, and another approach you can take is temporarily rename the ticketing add-on folder in the plugins folder. After you rename the ticketing add-on’s folder, WordPress will automatically deactivate the plugin because it can no longer find it. |

Thanks for all your help, I have just done as suggested and site is back up and running |
