Registrations Search Not Working

I am never getting results (empty set) from searches. I click on “View All Registrations” (There are over 3,000), then search the first name of the first result in the list, and get an empty set returned. I have updated this morning to the latest version and no change.

Needless to say, it would save me a huge amount of time if I could get reliable searches to quickly find what event a registrant is referring to when they email me.

Hi David,

Is your site hosted on Bluehost? If so, can you contact them and inquire about moving your site to a server where they do not enforce a limit on your search queries?

Do you know what setting they need to change on their end? (Bluehost support is asking)

“what PHP setting does it use to make those queries? Like max_execution_time? Max__input_vars?”

It’s a MySQL setting that limits the number of joins.

Bluehost is unable (or unwilling) to change mysql settings. Do you know other hosts that don’t have these built-in limits?

We’re not aware of any other hosts besides Bluehost that do impose this same limit. That said, shared hosting plans like the one Bluehost offers will typically have more limits than a dedicated or VPS hosting plan.
