Hello, try updating the page layout through the page editor in the WP dashboard so that it uses a full width layout which will remove the sidebar from the page.

now it’s just reloading the event page and not going to the registration/checkout page at all.

i know it isn’t connected to the template, but now all events are just cycling.

On the desktop it’s working fine, but on the laptop is still acting funky (in both Firefox’s new iPhone app as well as a private browser within Safari).

Can you check if this happens with the default theme active? You can test the default theme with the theme test drive plugin.
