Hi Pam,

Can you post a link to the event so we can investigate further?

I am not sure this is what I am supposed to send you but here it is. I don’t know where the dates for the registration came in as I did not place them there.

Hi Pam,

This is actually what I was asking for:

http://www.fcc-elgin.org/event-registration/?ee=9406

Event Espresso 3 doesn’t really have a way to not have registration dates, it will add some default dates if you do not enter them. What you can do though is set Display Registration form? to No (in the Event Options box) and that will prevent any registration form from appearing on the event page.

But the event doesn’t show on the calendar. So, I am guessing that I am going to have to include registration whether I like it or not

That’s not actually the case. If you set Display Registration form? to No, the event will still display on the calendar.

You will need to set an upcoming date for the event before it will display on the calendar, and if you’ve set anything like “This is an Active Event — No”, then you’ll need to change that to Yes.

It’s me again. OK so this is what I tried. When I put in a recurring event and added dates of event but left registration dates blank and clicked no registration form, the event does not show up on the calendar. The event did show when I added in registration start and end. So I guess if I have to do that for my recurring events without registrations I will but it seems like that is something that you shouldn’t have to do.

It may seem that way but Event Espresso was not built this way. You can set Display Registration form? to No (in the Event Options box) and that will prevent any registration form from appearing on the event page.

Right. I understand that and that is what I did. The event did not show up on the calendar at all. No need to reply I will just deal with it.

If you check the event page:

http://www.fcc-elgin.org/event-registration/?ee=9406

You’ll see that it says “This event has expired or is no longer available.”

That’s an indication that the “Is this an active event?” option is set to No. You can change that option to Yes and the event will appear in the calendar.
