Hi, I upgraded our plugin today and tested a sign up. It skips the payment page and doesn’t land on the thank you page. And it also doesn’t send an email confirmation anymore. However, we can still see that the person does still get registered for the event from the dashboard… Please help? |
Hi Ricky, You may have outdated template files in the wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory. You can test this by clicking the “Rename Templates Directory” button in Event Espresso > Template Settings. This can be undone via FTP is there is a problem. This goes for the gateway templates also. You can start with fresh templates from the newer version. If you have made modifications to the earlier versions templates, you can copy the modifications into the newer versions templates. When youre finished, you can copy the modified files into /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. If you havent made any customizations, and youre simply trying to update to the new version of Event Espresso, you can remove the templates from /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates using FTP or your hosts control panel file manager. |

I’ve removed both the templates and gateway folders from the /wp-content/uploads/espresso directory and it’s doing the same thing. It sends the user back to the event listing page. Here’s the event registration page: http://www.ncpolicywatch.com/event-registration/?ee=28 |

Ok, I can’t figure it out so I’m just going to revert to the older version since we have a live event and figure it out later or switch to a different service. Thanks -Ricky |

I reverted to an older version of EE 3.1.26 and it’s working like it is suppose to, so I will wait until our event is over or something and attempt again. I was hoping to get this done before the new year, though, so I can also upgrade to wordpress 3.5… |
Hi Ricky, Even with the older version active, it looks like the theme is inserting break tags between the hidden inputs on the confirmation page and the PayPal button. This has been known to cause issues. There may be some code from the theme that is altering the way WordPress formats shortcodes. Can you try wrapping the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on the /register page with the [raw] short tag? It will look like this: |
|
|
I just added the raw short tag. |
That took care of the inserted break tags, they are not there anymore. Please be sure to update all the add-ons and back up/remove any templates from /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates and /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways that were copied over from the older version of the plugin before updating. |

Thanks, I will try the upgrade again in the next few days and see if this helps with anything. |
|
also, do I need to put the [raw] short tag around all the other EE short tags like on the transaction and thank you pages? Thanks |
You should only need to put [raw] tags around those shortcodes if you are experiencing issues on those pages (e.g. incomplete transactions or display issues). |
