How do I fix this error?
Event Espresso Critical pages displays Shortcode Problem for the Registration Page.
1. I tried to edit my event, select the Shortcode button and change the field value from [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=498] to [ESPRESSO_CHECKOUT]. When I selected the update page button the shortcode reverted back to the original value [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=498].

2. I tried to role back the page to a much earlier version but that does not work either.

Hi there,

[ESPRESSO_CHECKOUT] should only be set on a single page for your whole site.

By default that page would usually be the ‘Registration checkout’ page but it is whatever is set within:

Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Critical Pages -> Registration Checkout Page.

If sound like you are adding the [ESPRESSO_CHECKOUT] shortcode within your Event description, which will not work.

Can you post a couple of screenshots that show the problem and where exactly your are adding the shortcode please?

From the Event Espresso Critical pages – here is the error
http://s617934876.onlinehome.us/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Capture1a.jpg

“”” I am NOT sure WHERE to add the ShortCode versus the EMBED Code””””

I am using the Mondree Theme – below are the steps that I performed to try to configure this… 🙁
1. Set-up Payment – Braintree Payments

2. Created an Event —

3. Created a Page called Purchase Tickets.
http://s617934876.onlinehome.us/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Capture1.jpg
3a. Selected Show editor, tried to type/input [ESPRESSO-CHECKOUT] here, but when I selected the update button it did not save.
http://s617934876.onlinehome.us/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Capture3.jpg
3b. Added a Registration Content Builder element
3b1. Edited the Registration embed code: by Copying the embed code from the Event embed code page and pasting into the <> pop-up dialog box.

4. Created a Ticket and added the ticket to the front page — the button link option is linked to Purchase-Tickets page. Which page should this be linked to the Purchase Tickets page or event page? so confusing…

Hi there,

You can fix this by amending steps 3 and 4 from above to this instead:

3a. Select the Text editor tab, type/input [ESPRESSO-CHECKOUT] here, remove any builder elements added earlier, then save that page. Revised screenshot showing Text editor tab:
https://www.evernote.com/shard/s4/sh/f61fde9c-03e9-447a-b9a7-b050dcad99d6/97bf4faae94f378b8a16861e97afa9b0

3b. Create a new, separate, page where you can add a Registration Content Builder element
3b1. Add your Registration embed code to this new page by Copying the embed code from the Event embed code page and pasting into the <> pop-up dialog box.

4. Created a Ticket and added the ticket to the front page — the button link option is linked to Purchase-Tickets page. Which page should this be linked to the Purchase Tickets page or event page?

You would not actually create a link to the Purchase Tickets page, you’ll either link to the event page, or the new page where you put the embed code. The Purchase Tickets page must contain only the [ESPRESSO_CHECKOUT] short code.

I understand the concept of your instructions, however I think my problem is multi-tiered. I am unable to update or save any changes made by in the Show Editor box. When I select the Update button any changes are erased.
http://s617934876.onlinehome.us/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Capture3.jpg

I have deactivated all plugins except event expresso.
I logged in from 3 different browsers Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Chrome.
I even had a different administrator who is running Safari from a remote location try to edit the page or any other page but when the update button is selected to save the page it erases any changes made in the editor section.

Do the changes get erased if you temporarily switch to a different WordPress theme? You can actually use the theme test drive plugin to switch to a different theme for the admin only.

That worked… Made it to the registration check out page. Will enter a new support request for the remaining challenges I am having.
