Registration Pending Payment – Email Link Not Working – Still Pending

Hello,

If I send the “Registration Pending Payment” email and click on the link in the email ([PAYMENT_URL]) which takes me back to the checkout page, I then click “Complete My Registration”, however on the final page the REG Status still says “Pending Payment” instead of “Approved”. Why isn’t it changing the status to approved?

Note: the payment method that I am using is “Pay at Door.”

This is why your registrations are not being Approved. You’re using the PAYMENT_URL but not actually making a payment as you are selecting an offline payment method.

There are monies owed on the registration so EE will not automatically update the registration status to Approved, none of the offline payment methods will do that.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your response. If none of the offline payment methods (pay at door) will not change their registration status to approved, why do they get approved if they complete the registration the first time (so I don’t have to send the registration pending email)? Thanks.

I’m sorry but I’m not sure I follow.

Your users are registering onto the event and becoming Approved the first time?

But then receive the registration pending payment email in which they use the payment link and the registration doesn’t update from ‘Pending Payment’ to ‘Approved’?

How is the registration still pending payment if they were approved the first time around?

Is there an event I can register onto to view what is happening?

Hi Tony,

If a person visits my event page, then registers, they are put in Event Espresso as “Approved.”

If a person visits my event page, submits their information but doesn’t complete the registration, and I send them the “pending” email and they click the link in that email to finish their registration, they are still put in the system as “pending registration” (not “approved” like they would be, had they completed their registration the first time they visited, as opposed to coming back through the email link) even though they just completed the registration.

Unless it’s a custom payment method, that’s not done by the payment method, its done based on the ‘Default Registration Status’ (DRS for short) set on the event – http://take.ms/UGECC

What is that set to on your event?

If a person visits my event page, submits their information but doesn’t complete the registration, and I send them the “pending” email and they click the link in that email to finish their registration, they are still put in the system as “pending registration” (not “approved” like they would be, had they completed their registration the first time they visited, as opposed to coming back through the email link) even though they just completed the registration.

With offline payment methods and a DRS of Pending Payment bother of those sets of registrations should be Pending Payment. With a DRS of Approved both of those groups should be Approved.

I tested the above using an Approved DRS and the Invoice payment method as the offline pm to select when returning and it worked as expected so something is different here.
