Hi, Today we moved from our dev site build.testmyheart.org.uk to our live version. Everything is fine except no one can register for events. If you have the email message settings set to “On the same request” then we get the error message “This registration step could not be completed. Please refresh the page and try again”. This seems to be generating emails (duplicate) one get stuck on qued for sending and the other is red as in failed. BUT if you set it to “On separate request” people can register but not emails are generated or sent, you get the grey colour and no recipient on the message, you can not make it generate or send. I have got wp_debug set as true and cannot work out why this is happening. I have tried so of the other suggestions like wp_memory and https but no luck |

Hi Nat, Since you’re only seeing issues with sending emails, I wonder if the live server has the ability to send emails via the wp_mail function. If you trigger a password reset email (or any other WP-related email) does the email get sent? |

The development and live server are the same server. It was developed on a subdomain of the current URL. I am not sure whether it is just email related, as I have just tried the email check plugin and they work. https://www.testmyheart.org.uk/events/screening-event-do-not-delete-2/ |

Can you post the password for that event so we can run a test? Right now this error is being thrown on your site:
May I ask how exactly you moved the site? |
|
Hi Sorry, the Password is Letmein1995. I have managed to fix the issue by deleting the core EE plugin an re-uploading a fresh install of it. How did you get that error as I could not see that in the console. Thank you for the speedy response. Kind regards |

That pretty much confirms what I suspected, it means some files were not moved correctly during the move.
It’s a PHP error so you won’t get it on the console, unless thrown on an ajax request where you could view it… if the server is set to display errors and not just log them. You mentioned you enabled WP_DEBUG on the site, so I figured you were likely using the code we have here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#wpdebug to log the errors to Note that error log is public, I’d recommend disabling WP_DEBUG now and removing the above file to prevent prying eyes. Re-enable WP_DEBUG (and the logging) when needed but remove the file again once finished. |
