Registration limit over sold – Anomaly or ??

Our client called and a class limited to 30 over the weekend sold 33 tickets?

This is the first time in years this has ever happened so I wonder if it’s just perfect timing or is there a change we should make.

The default for events is set at Pending Payment, is sold out only for approved?

The client is gone on weekends so we wonder if it oversold as they weren’t there to approve?

Or is there something else, I can’t find any other settings.

Hi Bob,

When the Default Registration Status is set to Pending Payment the event will only sell out if the number of paid registrations/tickets hits the limit. So do they have 33 paid tickets or 33 total registrations where fewer than 30 are paid for?

Yes they still use the “mail check” option so 1/2 of the registrations were pending payment by check, 1/2 were paid by credit card.

So the limit is paid by credit card correct?

Is there a way to set the limit to the number of registrations paid or not?

The limit is for Approved registrations, Pending Payment registrations do not count toward the limit. What they can do instead is set the Default Registration Status to “Approved”. This way both the registrations that use the “mail check” option and the registrations that use the pay by credit card option will be counted toward the limit.
