I have a fully updated version of WordPress and EE 4, on the front end of the site, when you go to register for an event, even if you enter a first name, last name and email, It returns an error in a pop up window that reads the following:

An error has occurred:
First Name is a required value.
EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Attendee_Information – _verify_critical_attendee_details_are_set_and_validate_email – 851

This is making it so it is impossible to register for any event. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

HI Brian,

How are you today?

Thank you for reporting this issue. It seems that another user is reporting this issue, and so we will review it with the developers first thing in the morning.

I am not able to reproduce the problem, so I posed these questions to the other user who is experiencing this issue. Can you try to reply to these questions also so we can try to identify the commonality?

– What plugins do you have activated (both Event Espresso or others)?
– What is the address to this website?
– Can you describe (or give us screenshots) of each of the questions you are using on the registration form? I just want to see or know how you’ve edited those questions.
– What payment method (gateway) are you using? PayPal, Authorize.net, etc.?
– When have you performed the upgrades? I see you’re using the latest right now, but was this issue reported before or after you upgraded to Event Espresso 4.6.5?
– what version did you have installed before you upgraded to 4.6.5, if you recall?

Hi Brian,

Is the site where this is happening attached to your support license?

Hello, Brian here, operating under our store manager’s new account. The site is http://cactusrecords.net – Our support license was just purchased via this account, and is now active. We are fully updated to 4.6.6, and still have the same issue. I am running a few additional plugins, I am going through and testing each right now. Here are the screenshots of what is happening. ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/g493123q73uguyx/Cactus%20Records%20EE4%20Error%20Screencaps.zip?dl=0 ) The site gets a lot of traffic, so it is now in maintenance mode. We are using the credit card payment gateway with mijireh, but are looking to upgrade to the Stripe add on today as well.

UPDATE:

It appears as though it was a conflict with the “Clean and Simple Contact Form” I am going to install a different contact form plugin for now, and the problem is temporarily solved.
