Our event for 2022 is having registration issues – when people try to register using a credit card for payment, people get a notice that says “This registration step could not be completed. Please refresh this page and try again.”
When people refresh and try again, they end up getting charged for each failed attempt. We are using Stripe for the payment gateway. We used the same set up in 2020 with zero issues.
“This registration step could not be completed. Please refresh this page and try again.” is a catch-all Event Espresso will show when an error is thrown but no details of the error were given.
Usually, that will happen if there is a fatal error being thrown on the request and that should be logged in the servers error logs, can you check there for any Errors from Event Espresso or the Stripe payment method?
(Your host will usually have a section for you to view the error logs in your control panel)
