I am getting a confirmation from paypal when someone pays, but not getting an e-mail from the system of a registration. How do make sure this happens.

Also, It doesn’t seem that the paypal redirect is working to take someone back to a page on the website to thank them. If you click within paypal to return to the site, an IPN error pops up even though the registration did in fact get processed.

Hi,

Double check that all of your Event Espresso critical pages have the correct shortcodes for Event Espresso 4 and that they are all set to published.

You can setup auto return through your PayPal account:

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/mer/express_return_summary-outside

It should be set to your Event Espresso thank you page which can be found in WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Critical Pages.

thank you…I will look into this further…will this take care of the IPN error?

Also, how do I know the shortcodes are for eventespresso 4?

Shouldn’t eventespresso generate an e-mail to the admin when someone registers? I am not getting one.

One last thing about IPN: This is what that the transactions critical page shows in the content and the shortcode on the page is: [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE] it says published and status is ok.

No IPN (or incomplete IPN) received.

Hello,

The shortcodes for the required Event Espresso pages can be found through WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Critical Pages.

The transaction page runs in the background. If you browse to it directly, then you’ll see that message. Be sure to keep it published.

You can enable or disable certain notifications through the Messages system for Event Espresso:

In the Messengers column, a greyed out recipient means that recipient will not receive that specific notification. If needed, you can make changes by clicking on a recipient and then updating the message and saving.

Lorenzo,

Maybe I am not making myself clear.

1. When someone registers it takes them back to page on my site and then a red box appears with an IPN error, but the payment did in fact go through. I don’t want to confuse my registrants.

2. When someone registers, shouldn’t I get notified by eventepsresso? I only get the payment confirmation from paypal.

Is the payment getting marked as complete in EE when you look at the registration in the admin? If it is, then your IPN messages may be delayed and arrive at your site after the registrant returns to your site. If it is not, you may want to check in your account admin section on Paypal’s site to make sure that you have IPN messaging turned on in your Paypal account.
