I have a question, how do I put in alphabetical order those who registered for the event once I download the CSV excel file. I’m doing this for check in, crossing everyone name off the list, but I need it to be last name in A-Z order, when I click on it, it only does the last names but the first names stay the same.

Please help

(BTW it been a huge success, 683 people registered without any problems!!)

Hi there,

(BTW it been a huge success, 683 people registered without any problems!!)

Awesome! I’m glad EE is working well for you 🙂

when I click on it, it only does the last names but the first names stay the same.

What is that you are you clicking on?

Is this within Event Espresso or the program you are using to open the CSV?

That isn’t an issue with Event Espresso but rather Excel.

You’ll need to select all the data within Excel, then do the sort.

Using Office 2013 select all the data (Ctrl + A)

Then go to the Data tab, Sort – http://take.ms/71aio

Set the first level to Last Name, Value, A to Z, the click ‘Add Level’ – http://take.ms/pwxXj

Set that level to First Name, Value, A to Z.

Then Apply the sort to the data and it will word by Last Name first then First Name.

Does that help?

It does, but I still want the last name to correspond to the same first name, example last name is William, Smith The William will be at the bottom and smith might be somewhere else, I need the Last Name to be A-Z and align with the correct first name

If you select all the data before sorting (not just the Surname column) that should not be happening.

Which version of Excel are you using?
