Event Espresso is working great except for registration emails. Sometimes they will work but then they stop again, and I’m just not sure how to trouble shoot this.

I have the email log plugin in wordpress that is registering that the emails are seem to be getting sent from event espresso to wordpress.

I contacted my server admins and they are not seeing emails in the server queue (not sure what this means). How do I figure out what’s going on? What should I do?

The website is live at http://www.prc.org – click on the event calendar in the top navigation and select any event. Some require registration and payment while others don’t so you may have to check out a few to find one that requires registration.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Gail,

Do you notice whether they are free or paid events that are properly (or not) sent?

I registered for a paid event (http://www.screencast.com/t/RTMpeuvSd1RE) and I received an email that payment is required but it ended up in the spam: http://www.screencast.com/t/urAdOWMicfD

Hey Garth,

It took awhile but it’s mostly sorted out now. Initially the server was freezing the emails for whatever reason, and then they were going in to spam as you noticed. Is there a way to get them to not be identified as spam? I realize every client is different but both gmail and microsoft 365 are placing them tagging event espresso emails as spam.

Hi Gail,

You could try using Mandrill or Postmarkapp. Both of these services take over the email sending and can improve email deliverability.

Both are premium paid for services though Mandrill offers something like 12,000 emails a month for free.
