It seems like paypal changed their payment gateway format starting today. Normally, when customers sign up for an event, they would get a registration confirmation, as well as a paypal confirmation after payment. Now, it looks like no registration confirmation is being sent to the customer. Can you please look into the issue? Thanks!

Just to clarify, the registration confirmations aren’t sending out for events that require payment. I.e. free events and events that use groupon codes did not get affected and registration confirmations get sent to these customers. Please help out asap as we have been getting a lot of emails from customers asking about their registration confirmations. Thanks!

An update on my end: I gave Paypal a call and they said they made some cosmetic changes to their site, and the paypal payment confirmation email address has changed for certain customers. For example, ours was changed from member@paypal.ca to service@intl.paypal.com. They are not sure if the URL that event espresso directs to has changed, but I can definitely tell the cosmetics have changed. Is there needs to be anything changed in the EE code for paypal payments so that customers can get EE registration confirmation emails again for those registrations that require paypal payments? Please advise, thanks

Hi Samantha,

The email that comes from PayPal automatically happens on their end and isn’t something that Event Espresso toggles on or off.

There is a separate confirmation email that Event Espresso sends and that goes out after a successful registration.

Here is the setting: https://cl.ly/2w21203w2o0T

If they are arriving to your registrants spam folder, then a free transaction email service like Sendgrid can help:
