In check out page, just when user must select the payment method (in this case only a payment method is available), the ticket name and description is not shown. It is only shown the total price. |
Hi there, I ran a quick test registration on your event but it looks like you events are set to ‘Not approved’. Is there an event I can use to view the above? |
Yes, I just changed status to your registration to Pending Payment. |
It looks like you probably need to update to the latest version of Event Espresso 4. |
So, is this a bug in this version? In current version the ticket description is not shown in the moment of make the payment? |
Both registrations (test) you made yesterday have been updated to status pending payment in order you to keep on with the following step (payment) and see ticket description is not shown. |
Hi there, I just checked and I don’t have any emails for the registration. I’ve just added another registration to test, can you try setting that to pending payment? When updating the registration be sure to trigger the messages – http://take.ms/psEbA |
Done |
anyway, if yoy can not do it, I can set up event temporarily in order to have status pending payment insead of Not Approved… Do you want me to do this? |
I just received this mail: Registro(s) Pendiente de Pago Los siguientes registro(s) están a la espera de pago para los siguientes eventos: Event: Torneo de Primavera 2016 Código de registro: |
Translation: Registration(s) pending payment |
ok I can see yoy made the payment (it failed because payment method is still in test) Did you see that ticket description was not shown? |
I did but I’m not sure why, it shows as 0 registrations on the checkout page which is odd. Have you customized Event Espresso at all? I’d start by updating to the latest version of Event Espresso and confirm if the same issue remains within that version. |
I supposed that registrations=0 was because payment had not been applied yet… |
No, it’s the count of the current registrations within the checkout and does not change based on payment. Here is how it should look – http://take.ms/rZN1c |
strange… Because after making the payment, registration ends succesfully and showing ticket name and description. |
You’ll then be on the thank-you page so it could be an error being thrown on the checkout page. If you enable WP_DEBUG does it show any errors on the checkout page? Have you customized Event Espresso at all? |
ok, now i have no access to config.php ( I guess is there where debug mode may be enabled…), so I will do it later at the office. Only customization is related function.php (translation for some buttons) |
Yes you enable wp_debug within wp-config.php Can you also update to the latest version of Event Espresso and confirm if the issue remains. |
wp_debug set true |
hope it helps to find out what is happening |
Id rather not upgrading to lastest version because this web is now in test phase so I prefer close the project and have the final OK from my customer. If I upgrade event esspresso it may give new issues and currently the only active issue is that checkout page is not showing ticket description. |
The problem with that is we provide support for the latest version of Event Espresso, it has the most recent bug fixes (which may or may not fix your issue) and whilst we are a little flexible with this depending on the problem we can not back port fixes into previous versions so at some point EE will need to be updated. There are no errors shown with wp_debug enabled so that doesn’t help unfortunately. Try temporarily disabling the custom payment method you are using and activate ONLY the Invoice payment method, same problem? |
ok, I will test later at office what you are suggesting (disabling the custom payment method and activate ONLY the Invoice payment method) and let you know |
Please reconsider your plan that involves not keeping the software up to date and not maintained. That strategy is going to create problems down the road for your customer. |
Of course I will upgrade as soon as I can get the “go live phase” in this project, in the mainetenance phase |
Did you test the above with only the Invoice payment method active? |
I could not do it yesterday, sorry. I will try to do it today |
Tested (only the Invoice payment method active) and it happens the same. Could it be due to css problem? |
Not likely, no. Do you have any caching enabled on the site? It could be a theme or plugin conflict to rule those out you can: 1) A theme conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme, then test. The theme test drive plugin allows for testing another theme without actually changing your site’s theme. 2) A plugin conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins. Then you reactivate them one by one, while testing the error condition between each reactivation. Failing that you will need to update to the latest version of Event Espresso so we can investigate this further. |
ok, I will try this. |
Nothing. Activated another them ant it happens the same. So if it its not due to css problems, no solution till next upgrade I guess. |
Could you at least tell me what file and code is implied in checkout page to show this ticket description in order to see if its ok or it may have been modified by mistake? |
If the only modifications made are within functions.php I’m not sure how can any of EE core files have been modified by mistake? I can provide you with a link to download a ‘clean’ version of the current version of EE you are using if that will help but again you would be better just updating to the latest version of EE. |
ok, perfect, thanks, but as you say if there are not changes… |
I’m not sure what that means. Your site is currently in Maintenance mode so I cant see exactly which version number you are running, 4.8.30? |
4.8.40.p |
Ok, you can download that version HERE |
Downloaded and revised. |
Possibly but this has not been reported before and it is not something I can reproduce locally using the same version nor the latest version so we need to know if this happens on your site when using the latest version as if it is an unknown bug it may have already been fixed with change made in a newer version. If you’re not prepared to update the live site you could create a clone using a plugin such as Duplicator and install it on a subdomain, then update EE4 there and see if the issue remains. If so we can investigate further there. |
