I have a question: Some guests have mentioned that they received a payment confirmation from PayPal but did not receive a registration confirmation from us when they registered for a class, I’m sharing this screen shot (attached). Is it possible that this is because some or all of the classes seem to be set to “No” for the “send related messages” option?
No, it’s not that option. That option is for when the admin makes changes to the registration, for example, if the admin changes the status, it will either trigger the notifications for that change based on the dropdown.
A couple of questions for you, is the above registration one of the user that ran into this problem? If so did you approve the user yourself or where they already Approved?
If you look in Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message activity, can you find the ‘missing’ email listed there?
The orange bar to the left of the messages means ‘Failed Sending, Can Be Retried’ (there is a legend at the bottom of the list that shows the colours used on that section).
So EE correctly generated and tried to send the message, but when it tried to send, wp_mail() returned ‘false’ (meaning sending failed) but unfortunately it doesn’t return any helpful error as to why.
Are you sending emails through you hosts mail server?
