Espresso Event used several years now fails to open cart page last couple days. Updated 9/5/2014 to 3.1.36.5.P, WP 4.0. I have System Status page dump available too, bottom of post.
Filling out registration then Captcha and submit just returns to http://ksmuseums.org/event-registration
It looks like you are attempting to refresh a page after completing your registration or your cart is empty. Please go to the events page and try again.
one status line below said this:
Session save path: does not exist – contact your host to resolve the problem.
but called provider and he swore it can’t be.
Kansas Museum Association is just about to have a flood of registrations for annual conference so appreciate the help.

Your server has fsockopen and cURL enabled.
The first thing to test is to rename the wp-content/uploads/espresso directory.
This directory contains template files that have (potentially) been modified by you or your colleagues.
Sometimes after an update the template files have been changed (we try not to do it often but sometimes we have to) and the modified versions will no longer work.
You can test this by renaming that folder via FTP or your hosting control panels’s file manager.
If that does resolve the issue, you will need to then copy the latest templates that you need to the wp-content/uploads/espresso directory and add in any modifications you made.
I wanted to let you know I found the problem and the site is working again. I discovered someone had replaced the index.php file for WordPress and were apparently attempting to get access to the shopping cart, but had only botched the process. Restoring those files and removing others scattered throughout the site returned function. Thanks for your team efforts even though it wasn’t an issue with Event Espresso. – Dave
