Can you suggest what else I might try. I’m using 3.1.29.1.P and have a few small (text-only) hacks in, so don’t want to udate just yet and it’s unlikely that the version is the problem. Can anyone advise what I can try next? thanks! |
Are you using a gmail account to send out the mail? If so you can check the Sent Mail area to see if these are actually being sent. |

Thanks Josh. No, I’m using a dedicated SMTP server (authenticated) and am not sure if I have access to the logs. I’ve also tried no SMTP (ie ordinary PHPsendmail) and this works for site forgot password but not for registration emails. Any other tests to help diagnosis would be great – thanks. |

some extra information This is interesting. When I registered for the 2nd time using exactly the same registration details, on the (usual) payment page instead of the usual message “your reg. is not complete until payment” and button to payment – I got: > Payment Overview firstname lastname, and then YES, the email confirmation arrived. Hopefully this extra info might shed some light!!! 🙂 |
This sounds like there may be more than one issue here. One of which may be caused by running a caching plugin where it’s caching the Event Espresso registration pages. Can you also check the server’s error logs for when the emails aren’t sending? One thing that you can check is the Organization contact email set in Event Espresso>General settings and make sure that the email address set there is correct. One thing that may help that I’d recommend is trying the Postmark app transactional email service. This is one of the plugins that can be used to integrate Postmark with WordPress: |
