A registrant made a number of errors when completing her registration form. The errors were errors of documentation, such as incomplete details in a text field, incorrect name of the 2nd registrant, incorrect email address given, etc… In other words the errors were the fault of the registrant, not a problem with event espresso. What to do in this situation? Do I somehow cancel the registration, (how do I do that?) and get the registrant to re-register (encouraging her to be more careful?) or is there some other way for the errors to be corrected?

Hi Irene,

You can cancel the registration and have the user re-register if you wish, or you can amend the details to fix the typos from within the admin.

To amend you go to:

Event Espresso -> Registrations

In that list find the registration you are referring to and click on the name to edit.

You’ll see something like this – http://take.ms/Kd8u1
(Note I’ve minimized sections to fix the question onto the page)

Clicking on the highlighted links allows you to change the values for that registration, however that is only for custom questions.

You mentioned the incorrect email address was provided, to fix that you edit the ‘contact’ created for the registration.

On the same page as above look on the right, you’ll see the ‘contact’ details for the registration – http://take.ms/AHQYAc

Click the ‘View/Edit Contact’ button to be taken to a page you can edit those details on…

However there is a gotcha here, depending on how the registration was created there may be more multiple registrations assigned to a single contact. Editing the contact edits the details on all of those registrations.

To cancel the registration and have them re-register (or you can register them again through the admin if preferred) you change the registration status to Cancelled.

Same page again, click the ‘Cancelled’ button to set the status – http://take.ms/RkaPq
