Registrant email address not valid?

One of our potential event registrants let us know of an issue she is having. When attempting to submit form questions, she is receiving this error message

“Please enter a valid email address”

even though she seems to be submitting a valid email address.

We have run a little more than 100 registrations through the system and that’s the first time I’ve heard of this issue.

We are running EE 4.8.27. I upgraded this morning and a handful of other registrations have processed since that time.

Any ideas?

Hi Jason, could you share an example of the email? Feel free to swap out various letters/numbers but please keep the formatting.

Sure, it was madeupxx.names@fakecountync.gov. Same character count.

There was a registrant earlier in the day with the same email nomenclature; it went through.

I talked to her on the phone and processed the registration using the website, and it went through just fine.

She did send a screen shot of the registration page with error message, and it looked OK to me. She said she tried on two separate days and received the same error message. I can forward that email to you if you’d like, Lorenzo. Thanks for the help.

Hi Jason,

Did the registrant/attendee share the browser that they were using when they ran into that issue?

I’ll find out.
