We are attempting to create a registration that allows for a parent to register for a class for their childrem. The parent would _not_ be an attendee, simply the person who registers for and pays for the classes.

As an example, if Jim wants to register his 3 kids for a class, the form should allow him to enter his information, select 3 tickets/classes and then fill in the information for each of his three kids. Again Jim is _not_ an attendee only his children are.

Right now, EE4 assumes that Jim is the first attendee. We do not want him to be the attendee. Only his children. It should list his information and then list the blanks for him to fill in information for his three kids.

How do we set something like this where the registrant is _not_ a participant in the class but is the person paying for the class for the three actual participants?

I’m not an expert but ee4 doesn’t assume the child is the attendee on ours. We have it set to allow multiple attendees per registration too. and the name can be changed at the payment screen to the parent for billing purposes.

Hi there,

Currently, EE doesn’t officially support separating out a ‘purchaser’ from an attendee, however, it is possible to work around this using some custom questions for the primary registrant and then using the answer for those questions in the payment emails.

In effect you setup the ‘Personal Information’ question group to collect the attendee details (in this case child details) and then have an additional question group assigned to only the Primary registrant which collects ‘Billing information’.

Where this then becomes a little strange (from a users perspective) is if the registrant is both the ‘purchaser’ and the attendee, they need to enter their details twice.

I can break down how to set this up further if it sounds like it will work for you?

Can you link me to an event I can use to run a couple of test registrations on so I can view your current setup?
