Hi there,
The EE dose not send the Registered Pending Payment emails to the registrant nor the admin.

Hi Ted,

Thank you for contacting us.

Can you please confirm if the registration is completed with or without selecting a payment gateway.

If you fail to select a gateway and click finalize, no email will go out as it is an abandoned checkout.

If you did select a gateway and finalize then the Registration Pending email should go out.

Also, please check if the message type is enabled under EE > Message > Settings: https://prnt.sc/8QXHY3MTRDWc

Yes. The payment gateway has been selected

And the message is enabled

Can you please let me know the step by step process you follow which is not working for you?

Hi Sam,

Thank you so much for your help. I received the pending payment email for your registration for the test event. However, I went through the same steps of filling the form going to payment page and the abounded the page and did not receive an email in the admin page nor as the registrant.

Can you please try it with another event?

Hi Ted,

Please note that the pending payment email is sent when an attendee reaches the thank you page using an offline payment method.

If you perform a registration checkout using PayPal, then an email is not sent since its expected that the attendee/registrant will pay for their registration on PayPal.com

Hi Sam,
If the customer reaches to “Thank you Page”, dose it not mean that the customer has paid for the course? Then, the pending email is useless. The pending payment email used to work when a customer abounds the registration.

I am little confused now. The pending payment email used to be as a tool to promote the client to finalize the registration.

Hi Ted,

I’m sorry for the confusion here, let me explain a little.

In order for EE to trigger the emails, the user needs to finalize the registration by selecting a payment method and then landing on the thank you page.

Loading on the thank you page doesn’t mean the payment is complete but not every payment method will direct you there with a completed payment. I checked on your site and you have Square and PayPal Express enabled, neither of those will direct you to the thank you page until payment has been completed so they won’t trigger the pending payment email.

Did you previously have an offline payment method enabled, such as Invoice? If the user selected that and finalized to load the thank you page they would receive a pending payment email, but not with your current payment methods.

You (the admin) can manually trigger pending payment emails for those registrations but EE will not do it automatically for you.
