I’m a little confused by the Members Integration plugin and how it works exactly. I’ve been searching through the documentation and can’t seem to find the answer I need. Hopefully you can help ๐Ÿ™‚

Basically, I’m using Event Espresso to sell tickets to a weekly dinner theatre show. Once someone buys their ticket and becomes a registered user, shouldn’t the plugin be creating a WordPress user for them? I don’t see any users being created.

I thought it was, which is quite handy. This will let me have returning customers be able to buy tickets at a discount price next time they come to the show.

Does the plugin create wordpress users for the attendees? If not, is there a way to have it do this?

Hi Karla,

WP User Integration does not deal with user registration or login. It has been a request for some time now, and we are considering implementing it into the relase version.

Seth came up with a way to do it, where you just need to add a function to your themes functions.php file.

The code can be found here, but pelase read the accompanying notes. https://gist.github.com/sethshoultes/5574217

Thank you so much for the information! I do hope this gets added as a regular feature. I had to get help from a coding friend in order to get that integrated. It didn’t actually work by adding it to the theme’s function file.

My friend had to end up directly adding it to one of the event espresso core files….

No problem at all, I also hope that it will get added into the core product in the future.

Sorry it didnt work with the theme, I would advise you to perhaps install the Custom Files addon (it’s not a plugin so you may need assistance again) and add the function there, that way it wont get removed when you update Event Espresso.

You betcha! Once I’ve got this new site moved from the development server and launched to ‘live’, I’ll be writing the review, submitting showcase, and testimonial! I think this software is simply the best!

I’ll second/third/fourth the ability to create WP Users, I thought that was what the plugin did and why I purchased it. ๐Ÿ™
