Can you update your site to have Event Espresso version 4.9.33.p? That will fix the issue with the reg code not getting set.
With regards to the registration message not sending, is the registration message showing failed to send in the Event Espresso > Messages Activity list table?
Actually, the registration message was never generated, but a “Registration pending payment” message has been sent, which means I should probably keep this file as it is in order to avoid payment issues with the registrant.
I have uploaded version 4.9.33. That fixes the reg code issue on new registrations, but the messages are still not generated.
When I try to (re-)send the messages manually, 2 new messages appear in the queue (one for the registrant and one for the administrator) but they have no recipient and no sender.
Those should eventually get processed on a separate request, but if your server has wp_cron() deactivated, then what you can do to fix the e-mail issue is you go to Event Espresso > Messages > Settings and set the messages to send on the same request.
