I just recorded a PayPal refund I did today for $80 for a registrant. His original payment was $145.

On the overall list of all registrations, it shows that his total payment is now down to $65, which is correct.

When you click on the shopping cart to view his transaction, the refund I wrote out and entered doesn’t show. It only shows that he has paid $145– no refund in sight.

Somehow the refund info I typed in got recorded in one part of espresso but not the other.

Can you shed some light on why this is happening?

Thanks

Hi Orionweb,

Which version number of Event Espresso 4 are you using please?

Can you run through the steps taken to apply the refund here, I’m not seeing an issue on my test sites currently so trying to narrow this down some.

Hey Tony,

Sorry for the late response.

I run the most current version of Event Espresso (Version 4.7.9.p) and the current WordPress version (Version 4.2.3)

I logged into PayPal, issued the refund to the user. Then, went back into Event Espresso and issued the refund. The user did receive the refund from PayPal.

The refund is then applied to the list of registrations on the registration page, but not to the individual registrant page and the transaction page.

On the transaction page, the refund shows up right after I applied it, until I go back to the page. Then it’s gone.

Thanks

Hmm that’s really strange, I’ve not been able to reproduce this.

Does that happen any all of your registrations?

For example if you place a test registration within the Admin, manually apply a payment and then refresh the transaction page, does the payment stay?

Then if so, if you then apply a refund, and refresh the page, does the refund stay within the transaction?

I may have figured it out.

I hadn’t had this problem until I installed Jetpack. So I turned off all the modules except the one I needed.

The refund was applied, and stayed.

I appreciate you taking the to help me.

Thanks

I’m glad its now working for you.

I’ve created a ticket to investigate a possible conflict with JetPack further.

Did you previously just have all modules active?

I had all the base modules that came activated with the plugin. I turned all of them off except for Videopress.

Thank you for the additional feedback, I’ve added this to the ticket.
