I’ve been playing around with some of our expired events.
I’ve noticed that if I set /course/event-name/ to private, then I when I visit that URL it will automagically send me to /course/event-name-5/ which is the most recent one. However, if I set /course/event-name-2/ and /course/event-name-3/ then I just get a 404 error.
Is there a simple way to redirect people that visit an EXPIRED event to the most current event at that same venue/category… the more I think about it, the more I think this is quite complex.
I can’t see it as a plugin – more a load of work around .htaccess ?

You can also set up redirects without making edits to .htacess by using the Redirection plugin.
