Hello dear EE support team, I got a list of upcoming events here, below the calendar. However, with the recurring events I have made, I see the events that have passed are still in the list. http://www.sintjansberg.be/events/agenda-3/ Is there a solution or a workaround for this problem? I would like to display only the upcoming events. thanks |
Hi Gijsbert, The reason for this is likely due to the Registration End date still being valid. For example if you edit this event: http://www.sintjansberg.be/event-registration/?ee=55 What is the ‘Registration End’ date for that event? I’m guessing when the events were created using the Recurring Events Manager the option ‘Yes (all created events are available for registration between the above registration dates).’ was chosen? – http://take.ms/hmNxW Apologies for the questions, I just want to confirm before offering a solution. |

Yes, indeed, with the REM. I set the ‘end registration date’ after the last event. Does that mean I’ll have to edit the ‘end registration date’ of each event individually or do you propose another solution? thanks |
There are a couple of options to fix this. You could manually alter each events registration end date to match that events start/end date. If you want the event to close and be removed on the day of the event set the registration end date to match the event start date. REM has another option when creating the events, ‘No (each event’s registration start and end dates will be incremented according to a formula).’ – http://take.ms/vMgLH Which can be used to create events which ‘roll’ the registrations dates with the event. (I can explain this in further details if you prefer this option?) However, we currently have a new version of the Recurring Events Manager available through the Pre-Release Channel which has a new option to allow you to fix these events easily. If you would like to try this version you’ll I would recommend performing a full site back-up, we have a guide available here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/ You’ll then need sign up to the Pre-release channel, download the latest PR version of REM from the Pre-release section on Your Account Page (http://take.ms/cQwZ3), de-activate & delete the current version of REM and upload/activate the PR version. If you then edit the event previously linked: http://www.sintjansberg.be/event-registration/?ee=55 Select ‘All Events in the series’ – http://take.ms/JORRR You’ll find an extra option within REM, ‘Registration closes on event start’ – http://take.ms/iLRwS That option only works with ‘Yes (all created events are available for registration between the above registration dates).’ but tick the checkbox and look at the event dates in the response window. Here’s an example of mine – http://take.ms/9zCdd See in the example how checking the checkbox sets the registration end date to match the event start date. As this is a test version be sure to check all the dates within that window are correct and then update the event series. That should then set the event dates correctly and removed the expired events. |

I did install the PR version, ticked the checkboxes and then ‘update event’ but it doesn’t change the result. Screenshot of the checkboxes: Thanks |

FYI: I did manually edit the ‘registration end date’ now, to have these events out of the list. |
Ah, you are using manual dates, which the update may not be taking into account yet. Apologies, that wasn’t something I expected. I’ll do some testing with manual dates and create a ticket to include if needed. |
