So I waited until there was a green check mark next to the robot box before I clicked the payment option box at the bottom.
We are using the “I am not a robot” ReCaptcha with our events along with EE version 4.6.29 and WP version 4.2.
All of a sudden we’re getting multiple complaints from people trying to register for our event that they are getting the following error:
An error has occurred:
A valid transaction could not be initiated for processing your registrations.
EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Attendee_Information – process_reg_step – 591
It’s been so long since I set things up, I don’t remember if this version of ReCaptcha is part of EE or not, but I need to get this fixed so people can get registered. I have no idea what browser the complainants are using as I’m getting the complaints third hand. Help!
It turns out that Event Espresso has its own built in reCaptcha feature that gets configured in Event Espresso > Registration form > Settings. If you’re using a third party reCaptcha plugin, can you try deactivating the plugin and test your registration form? You can test the reCaptcha feature on your registration form by logging out of the website, and then start a registration.
I went to Event Espresso > Registration form > Settings and Use ReCaptcha was checked yes, so I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m already using, versus a third party ReCaptcha.
Yes. It looks like you are using Event Espresso’s recaptcha. However, if you have another plugin that uses recaptcha, it could likely interfere with EE’s. Can you be sure that you are not using another plugin that uses recaptcha? And if you are, can you deactivate it and test again?
If you deactivate the reCaptcha feature does the issue go away? Along with that, have you considered updating to the current version of Event Espresso 4?
