We’re receiving a random Parse error: syntax error on a client’s website: http://www.valleychamber.com.au, which is preventing the entire site from loading.
I’ve done some troubleshooting but can’t determine what exactly is causing it.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /wp-content/plugins/espresso-ticketing/manager/index.php(1) : regexp code(1) : eval()’d code(4) : eval()’d code on line 1

It could be a plugin conflict? But then no updates or new plugins have been installed? It seems to have happened out of the blue and might not even be related to EE, although that’s the first area that the site seems to be tripping up.
Any thoughts?
Thank you for your help!
Cheers,
Lee

Would normally not be included anywhere on your site.
Unfortunately that code is not a part of Event Espresso and very likely not a part of any other plugin, it appears your site has been compromised.
From those errors if you open up /plugins/espresso-ticketing/manager/index.php you’ll likely find that code on the first line of the file.
You will also find it within /plugins/wysija-newsletters/index.php and possibly many other files on the site.
Do you create regular full site backups?
