Hello EE Team! I was wondering if you had an idea on a time that you expect to have the Quickbooks payment gateway fixed and running again? This issue is really starting to effect our sales and I would love to have an idea of when we can expect it to be up and running again? I received a response off one of my past emials that suggested I could downgrade to the previous version of EE but I was hoping to avoid that. If that is my only option, can you please advise on the least painful and time consuming way to accomplish this? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. ~Chris |

Hi Chris! I am Joao from the Support team. Thanks for reaching out! Quickbooks should be working fine with the Event Espresso 4.10.38p – could you tell me what exactly it’s not working in your end? |

Hello Joao, thanks for the reply. I have been having this issue for a while now, I even have an old support post where I was advised that it’s a known issue and to downgrade my version of EE to make it work. I just haven’t had the time to do that and was hoping the issue was fixed. So the QuickBooks portal says it’s connected and has a future exploration date, but under that, it says “not connected to Quickbooks” in bold red lettering. If I hit the connect button, I get a new window with this error “There was an error while trying to request a request_token, please try again” and I’m unable to click on the disconnect button. It’s been like this for a while now. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. |

I just wanted to give you an update. Our web server upgraded to PHP 8 a while ago, and I just had to downgrade to PHP 7.4 because the event mover is still having issues with PHP 8 as I was still getting a fatal error. I went back into payment methods and tried to re-activate the Quickbooks Gateway to see if that would help fix it, but it’s still doing the same thing. |

Hi Chris, My apologies for the delayed reply but I’ve been investigating this and have pushed an update to fix the above live. The latest version of the QuickBooks payment method is now 1.0.11.p, can you update to that version and see if it fixes the above for you. If you don’t see the update available on your site yet, go to Dashboard -> Event Espresso -> General Settings. Make no changes and just hit save, that will force Event Espresso to check for updates and it should then show in Dashboard -> Plugins. |

Tony, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LOOKING INTO THIS!!! So, I ran the update and was able to get it to connect successfully, but for some reason, it wouldn’t process the transaction. I received the error “An error has occurred: Quickbooks Card Authorization/Capture Error” several times. I logged into the developer’s console and verified all the settings again (we recently changed our primary domain name) and everything was correct on the intui app. Went back into EE, logged out, and back in, conducted a test, and got the same processing error. I then logged out, rotated my secret key in intuit and when I went to re-connect the plugin I got “There was an Error while trying to request a request_token, please try again.” now it seems I’m back where I started as I can’t get the plugin to even connect to intuit again. |

Hi Chris, Are you running any caching system on your website? If so, it’s recommended to disconnect Quickbooks, clear the cache (reach your hosting company support to make sure the server-side caching is cleared), and then try to reconnect again. |
|
Joao, so I wiped the cache, tried two different browsers, and even tried incognito/private mode with no luck. I’m getting the same error when I try to log in. Error “There was an Error while trying to request a request_token, please try again” |
|
Hmm, now that is interesting! Can I take a quick look in the admin? I’d like to see if anything stands out on the request. If so you can send temp login details using this form: |

Tony & Joao, thank you both so much for all your help with getting me back up and running. I think I had several issues running at the same time but this last one was a user error. Just so others that may have the same issues know, it ended up being the sandbox connection requirements that Intuit has. When I originally created and authorized my app I had a programmer help me get things rolling. Either they didn’t have the sandbox connection requirement at the time or the programmer did the required sandbox connection test without telling me, and that was the hold up. The update you guys pushed worked great to fix the connection error. Post update I did have a connection issue with Chrome but wiping the cache fixed that with no issues, as you suggested. As a business owner that is trying to run all the administrative backend plus all the technical aspects of an e-commerce site, with intermediate technical skills, it can be frustrating to take the time necessary to figure out all the little details sometimes. You guys have been amazing at helping me keep EE running smoothly. We are a nonprofit supporting communities all over the country with training and EE is the heart of operations. Without EE we would be dead in the water. What you guys do really makes a difference, please don’t forget that. Keep up the amazing work! You are amazing and thank you all for your hard work. |
