We’re planning on moving to EE4 and using the QuickBooks payment gateway. We have a payment account however, the setup docs indicate we need to be using QuickBooks Online. We’re using the desktop version of QuickBooks (2015 Premier) and need to continue using that for a variety of reasons. Does the gateway work with the desktop version of Quickbooks?

My understanding from reviewing the information from Intuit is the gateway is only compatible with Quickbooks Online.

Thank you. Who created the gateway? Do you know if it’s possible to modify so that we can use with the Desktop version of the product?

The gateway was developed by two developers on Event Espresso’s development team. I don’t believe it’s possible to modify that gateway to make it sync to Quickbooks Desktop. Intuit has an older legacy API (QBMS) that could potentially be used to build a separate gateway on top of.

Thanks! I found this about using the Payments API and then linking to the SDK to connect the Desktop application (https://help.developer.intuit.com/s/question/0D5G000004Dk6n8KAB/payments-api-with-quickbooks-desktop) We would be interested in hiring someone to build this, would this be considered sponsored development or should we contact one of the development partners?
