Hello – I’ve been waiting to set up my gateway to take payments because of an SSL certificate challenge. That is now resolved. I set up and tested my intuit development app. The sandbox tests worked. I have moved into production, adjusted by redirect URI and I am still unable to connect. What else could I be doing wrong? And, yes, I followed the instructions here https://eventespresso.com/wiki/quickbooks-payment-gateway/

Hi there,

When you say you can’t connect, what is happening?

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing when you can’t connect?

Hi Tony – I’ll get a screenshot over to you… Do I need to disconnect Invoice payment methods before activating the Quickbooks method?
Thanks
Autumn

After you finished with testing with sandbox, did you disconnect the app from the site via the WP Dashboard > Event Espresso > Payment Methods page?

If not, you could try setting the payment methods page back to use the sandbox credentials, then disconnect the app. More info here:

I’ve done as you suggested but am now stuck on this step: 5) We now need to lookup the Company ID. There are two ways to locate your Company ID which will be an alpha-numerical value. You can login to your QuickBooks merchant account such as through the QuickBooks Online Login portal and then press the following keys on your keyboard: Control + ALT + ?. If you are not able to retrieve the Company ID, then please follow up with QuickBooks support and they will be able to help you.

6) Once you have your Company ID, then go ahead and copy it and then switch to your other browser tab that has the payment methods screen for QuickBooks and then paste in the number into the Company ID field

There is no place for me to put a Company ID. Is this a step relative to the older version?

Yes that step was for an older version that used oAuth 1.0. You can skip that step.

Okay – well, it’s still not working. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I guess I need to purchase some support tokens to have you guys set this up for me? Please advise as to how I make that happen and what information you will need to access the systems to make this work.

Thank you!

The purchase of a support token should not be necessary to get a gateway set up. While Quickbooks is one of the least user-friendly systems to work with, this can be set up without the purchase of a token.

We’re you able to disconnect the sandbox from your site?

I think so… I just disconnected the Quickbooks plugin and then reactivated it. I changed all of the Keys to the production keys in intuit. Maybe I should uninstall and then reinstall the plugin?

Uninstalling the plugin will not help in this case. You’ll need to go to the Event Espresso > Payment Methods > Quickbooks settings page and verify that the sandbox account was disconnected. It sounds like what you did was swap out the keys without first disconnecting. Can you set the gateway’s Debug Mode On? option to Yes, set it to use the sandbox keys, then click update? Then try connecting. If it allows connection, then click on the button to disconnect.

Then at that point you can switch the Debug Mode On? option to No, set the live API keys, then click Update Quickbooks Payments settings. Then at that point you click the Connect button.

Okay – I did exactly that. The Sandbox worked so I clicked ‘Disconnect’ and then I changed the Debug Mode to No and updated the keys and it still is giving me the “We’re Sorry” message. Exactly the same as the screenshot I sent you… maybe I did something wrong in Intuit?

Can you check with Intuit support with your last question? They may be able to help you with your account and even explain why the sandbox account without the Production account connecting.

Okay – I’ll see if I can get some help on that end… Thanks
