Hi support forum people.

Thanks a million for the help on getting this far πŸ™‚

I am building a site that will list medical seminars around australia.
http://www.amsn.com.au/seminars/

My goal is to be able to list about 8-12 upcoming seminars on my seminar page with a brief description ( see the connecting practice at the top ) that then clicks into a large desription of what the seminar is about and then lets them enroll.

Is there a way to allow a more consise view on the seminar page that opens to a more elaborate view on this page http://www.amsn.com.au/seminars/?ee=1
I hope I make sense here. been way out of my depth the last few days but i think i can ssee the light.
If not is there any suggestions out there on how to achieve my goals.
cheers Brent

Hi,

The best way to achieve this is with the more tag.

In the event description find a place to stop the description and click the more tag button http://d.pr/i/irFM

In the Template Settings page make sure the “Display short descriptions in the event listings?” option is set to yes.

This will then only show the description above the more tag until the user clicks on the event to go to the full description and registration page.

Hi brent,

I’m not sure I follow, is that not the current situation?

A brief description of the event on the seminars page, then when you click on the event name or Register/View Details button you are taken to the full description?

Thats just perfect Dean. That answers my question perfectly. I tried it and it worked a treat.

Tony as I understood before the use of the more tags, any info entered into the event overview was displayed on both pages.

cheers guys πŸ™‚ you rock

Ah I posted as Dean replied.

Makes sense now, completely missed the fact that without the more tag you don’t get ‘a brief description’…

Anyway, glad Dean understood more than I πŸ™‚
